The Betfred Super League and NRL seasons continued over the Easter weekend, whilst the 2023 Betfred Women's Super League also officially got underway.

Here is a look at how England stars got on during the latest round of fixtures.

In the NRL, Dom Young was on the scoresheet for Newcastle Knights in their 34-24 victory over the New Zealand Warriors. The Knights currently sit 11th in the table, three points adrift of the 5th placed Warriors. 

Elliott Whitehead captained the Canberra Raiders to a 20-14 triumph over Herbie Farnworth’s Brisbane Broncos.

Josh Hodgson’s featured in Parramatta Eels’ 28-22 defeat of John Bateman’s Wests Tigers, whilst Tom Burgess was in action for the South Sydney Rabbitohs as they claimed a 50-16 away victory against the Canterbury Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, in Super League, it was derby day delight for Ryan Hall and Hull Kingston Rovers after the winger scored a memorable hat-trick in his side’s ruthless 40-0 rout over cross-city rivals Hull FC. Also on the scoresheet was England Knights international Mikey Lewis and James Batchelor.

Harry Smith scored in Wigan Warriors’ Good Friday defeat of St Helens. Also on the winning side was Liam Farrell, Kai Pearce-Paul, Liam Marshall and Morgan Smithies.

Jonny Lomax did claim a consolation try for Saints, whilst Morgan Knowles’ late effort was ruled out by the video referee.

Elsewhere, Andy Ackers and Marc Sneyd starred for Salford Red Devils during their 22-20 win at Leigh Leopards. England Knights international Tyler Dupree crossed over for the Red Devils.

Josh Thewlis (x2) and George Williams scored in Warrington Wolves’ 20-14 win over the Catalans Dragons. Mike McMeeken was also on the scoresheet for the Dragons.

Jermaine McGillvary was on target in Huddersfield Giant’s trip to Headingley, but his score couldn’t prevent an 18-17 defeat at the hands of the Leeds Rhinos.

Chris Hill and Harry Newman also featured in the contest.

A competition record crowd of 5,308 witnessed York Valkyrie kickstart their 2023 Women's Super League campaign in style after they recorded an impressive 34-12 victory over reigning champions Leeds Rhinos at Headingley.

2021 Rugby League stars Hollie-Mae Dodd and Tara Jane Stanley were among the try scorers for Valkyrie, whilst Tamzin Renouf also touched down for her first try of the season.

The likes of Caitlin Beevers, Amy Hardcastle and Zoe Hornby featured for the Rhinos, but the visitors ultimately proved too strong in what was a clinical performance.

England host France as part of a Mid-Season International double-header at Warrington's Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday 29 April. Tickets are priced from just £20 for Adults and £10 for Under 16s, and are available to purchase here.
