Volunteer Recognition

Volunteer of the Year

Awarded to the volunteer who, through their outstanding contribution, ensure smooth running within their organisation.

This is a person on whom many things depend and who, through their efforts, helps to grown the game.

Children’s Coach of the Year

Awarded to the coach whose efforts help junior players (U18 and below) develop good behaviours, skills, and technique. This coach should create a fun and friendly environment to allow young players to start and succeed in Rugby League. This award can recognise year on year improvement.

Adult Match Official of the Year

Recognises the Match Official (18 and over) who has shown exception performance and/ or commitment at a community game level, with exemplary dedication and effort which singles them out among officials.

Coach of the Year

Awarded to the coach (Open Age) whose dedication has helped the club and players to develop and improve, whose efforts make the game more enjoyable, and who helps players to be the best they can be. This award can recognise year on year improvement.

Ground person of the Year

Awarded to the unsung hero who looks after the pitch at the club and through whose efforts the players enjoy training and playing on a great surface. The recipient has also shown the commitment to the learning and development needed to be a top grounds person.

Young Match Official of the Year

Recognises the young (aged 17 and under) Match Official who has shown exceptional performance and/or commitment at a community game level, with exemplary dedication and efforts which singles them out among officials.

Sky Try Award

Recognises the community club or the Foundation member of staff or volunteer who has gone the extra mile to support and celebrate the Sky Try campaign to grow the number of children and young people engaged in Rugby League.

School and Universities

In addition to our annual awards, there are also awards available through our University and College Rugby League Awards scheme. When nominations open, your organisation should be contacted directly.
