Dewsbury Rams can make it eleven games unbeaten in the 2023 Betfred League One season when they travel to Cornwall this Sunday, 1pm kick-off.
The Rams, who are coached by former Super League halfback Liam Finn, currently sit top of the third tier after picking up nine wins and a draw from their opening ten fixtures.
Cornwall, meanwhile, have already picked up their first-ever home win this season, however, they have failed to pick up any points from the seven matches that have followed.
One player looking to make his mark on Sunday is Rams star man Paul Sykes, with the veteran halfback requiring just 21 points to reach an incredible 1,000 career points.
Elsewhere, London Skolars and Oldham kick off the weekend’s action on Saturday afternoon.
Stuart Littler’s Oldham side have made a solid start to the season, having won seven of their opening nine games.
In addition, the two occasions where Oldham have dropped points have come against league leaders Dewsbury and second-placed Doncaster, the former of which they held to a 26-all draw last month.
Things haven’t gone as well for the Skolars however, with Joe Mbu’s side losing all ten of their League One fixtures in 2023, leaving them at the foot of the table below ninth-placed Cornwall.
London will be boosted by the fact that they did in fact win the last meeting between the sides in the capital, after running out 38-16 winners in May 2022.
Finally, second-placed Doncaster face off against Rochdale Hornets at the Eco-Power Stadium.
The Dons have won the last five meetings between the sides, with Rochdale’s last win at Doncaster coming back in April 2011.
Two players hoping to make an impact in the fixture will be Dons duo Misi Taulapapa and Sam Smeaton.
Taulapapa is one game away from reaching 350 career appearances, whilst Smeaton, the division’s second top try scorer in 2023 is just one score away from securing his 100th career try.
